Job Description

Here are the requirements as specified to Rent-a-Student. Anyone studying to be a care worker would be at an advantage:

Student to perform a few chores on a weekly basis (4 / 5 days per month), including the following:

– on a weekly basis move heavier items for her (suitcases, lifting of a matrass, moving a pot plant or boxes, moving furniture around etc. when and if necessary)

– In winter, on a weekly/bi-weekly basis return empty gas cylinders x 4 to Builder’s Warehouse and purchase new gas

– Bath her 2 x small Yorkshire terriers on a monthly basis

– On a weekly basis fetch mail from post office

– On a monthly basis collect and use my mom’s cash to pay for chronic medicine at Dischem

– Weekly add-hoc errands such as taking her car for service, renewing a licence etc.

– Put things away / take things from high reaching places

– Fix an occasional light bulb, plug etc.

– Assist with IT related problems she might have (cell phone apps not working, e.g. whatsapp, Skype, internet connectivity etc)

 

The requirements are:

– Preferably a male student

– Afrikaans home language

– Preferably live in East / North-Eastern Pretoria to save petrol and commuting time as well as be familiar with the area (my mother lives in a security estate in the Silver Lakes area)

– Very responsible because the student will handle cash / her car (must not have a problem with back ground checks or me contacting their parents)

– Willing to communicate, be patient and assist somebody much older than them.

– Able to solve problems on their own (preferably with strong Christian values)

– Commit to at least one year (build a trust relationship)

Please note: My mother is fully mobile and does not need assistance with walking, sitting etc)

I’m willing to pay R250 per day. (x4 = R1,000 per month)

This will be all inclusive of petrol they use for errands.

My mother and the prospective student will have to discuss which day of the week will suit both parties.
