Weekend sales assistant needed for Bay Harbour Market stall, Hout Bay

A vibrant and eclectic décor and stationery store at the popular indoor Bay Harbour Market, Hout Bay, requires a part-time/casual sales assistant to work weekends. Ideal for a student or mature scholar.

Applicant requirements:

-Must be English first language, well spoken and confident.

-Must have grade 12 minimum education (though mature, confident and eager school-goers will be considered)

– Honest, trustworthy and reliable individual

– good with basic numeracy and record keeping

– must have reliable transport

– must be physically able – at times you may need to stand/be on your feet for the entire shift

Ideal candidate will have an arty flair (or appreciation thereof), gift of the gab, confidence and previous sales experience – though this is not an absolute necessity as basic training will be provided.

Job details:

-setting up and packing away display items, packing out new stock, cash-up, record keeping of all sales, assisting customers in sales and always trying to up-sell products from the range.

Hours: FRIDAY 4:45pm to 9:15pm; SATURDAY and SUNDAY 9:15am to 4:15pm.

Number of shifts per month can vary.

Pay: R22 an hour, plus commission on all sales.
